Richmond Virginia Rowing Club

Row With Us

River City Crew is a 501(c)3 non-profit youth rowing program for 8th - 12th grade students in the Richmond, Virginia area. RCC is open to all students, including public, private and home schooled students. RCC rows on the James River at Robious Landing Park in Chesterfield County and competes at regattas in Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic Region in the fall and spring seasons and holds summer camps for both beginning and experienced rowers and sculling lessons.

2024 SPRING SEASON

Spring Season starts on Monday, March 4th.
There will be a 3-week Learn-to-Row Session for new rowers on M,W&F, 4:30-6:30PM.
After taking the LTR session new rowers may join RCC as a team member and compete in regattas.
Registration is open. Sign up asap so we will be able to plan the season.

 2024 SUMMER SEASON_

Open to all rowers, beginner to advanced and Learn-to-Row.

Youth Sweep & Sculling Practice for experienced rowers is from 6-8 AM on most mornings, M-F.
The 2-Week Learn-to Row Sessions are from 8-10AM, M-F.

Those who have never rowed before, or are new to RCC should contact Coach O'Rourke before registering.

Summer Fees - There is a one-time per family Initial Membership Fee of $30
 Learn-to-Row - $300/2-week session, M-F
 Experienced Rowers - $28/day (daily sign up online)

LEARN-to-ROW
Session 1 - June 17-28
Session 2 - July 15-26
Session 3 - August 5-16

RCC scullers, Sumner Kerr & Emily Costa finished the 2023 Spring Season by finishing 9th in the nation, as sophomores, in the Women's Varsity Double at the USRowing Youth National Championships. They were undefeated in the fall head race season, finishing first in the Women's Youth Varsity Double at the Head of the Schuylkill and the Head of the Occoquan.
Sumner & Emily, along with the RCC team, look forward to a successful 2024 Spring Season!

Sumner Kerr & Emily Costa are the 2024 Women's Youth Double National Champions!


Sumner & Emily placed 1st in the nation at the USRowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Florida.
They finished 1st in their Time Trial, Semi-Final and Final, beating teams from across the USA.
